Yesterday I wrote about Gregory Timm, the 27-12 months-outdated gentleman who drove his van even though a GOP voter registration tent established up in a Florida parking lot past weekend. There were being 6 volunteers staffing the tent at the time and two of them experienced to go promptly out of the way to steer clear of being hit. Timm was arrested a couple hours right after the incident at his household but, as of yesterday, police continue to hadn’t unveiled what motivated him. Currently, the police report has been introduced and it makes it really obvious what enthusiastic Timm was animosity towards the president:
According to JSO investigators who tracked him down, Timm admitted to purposefully driving into the tent since “someone had to take a stand.”
Timm told investigators he saw the registration tent after he went to select up food items and cigarettes and a close by Walmart, according to JSO.
He then confirmed investigators a movie he recorded even though driving toward the tent, according to JSO, but the video clip reduce out prior to he hit the tent. According to the report, Timm mentioned he was upset that the video finished before “the very good section.”…
The suspect told investigators he does not like President Trump and that was section of the purpose he needed to run about the tent, in accordance to the arrest report.
Timm told the officers who arrested him that the registration tent was, “like an individual sh**ting on your grave.” Politico has posted the whole law enforcement report which you can read through below.
This isn’t a lot of a shock. What else could have determined another person to drive via a registration tent plastered with Trump’s identify. The police obviously experienced this info nearly instantly. And however, as of yesterday, they refused to say everything about Timm’s motive in the case.
Timm evidently claimed he was not seeking to damage any person but an eyewitness claimed he skipped hitting some of the volunteers by a lot less than a foot as they speedily moved out of his way. He deserves to have the book thrown at him for this stunt. And it’s well worth noting that he recorded the whole matter, right before and soon after, on his cell phone. Timm obviously assumed this was one thing he’d want to share with many others who would approve of what he’d finished.
Finally, this story is finding some media interest (Politico has done 2 tales, the Put up covered it yesterday) but when I wrote about it yesterday I suggested perhaps 1 reason the media’s response had been a bit tepid was that the police hadn’t produced obvious his motive. Now that the law enforcement have completed that, albeit belatedly, this incident should to get some critical consideration from media outlets that are commonly pretty intrigued in acts of political violence.
