MANCHESTER, N.H. — At a rowdy occasion Monday at a Manchester bar, Amy Klobuchar built her ultimate press for votes ahead of Tuesday’s New Hampshire principal. Amid chants of “Amy” and a good deal of beer, Klobuchar argued she was the candidate who could unite the country and bring decency back to the White Dwelling.
“It is time to cross the river of our divide and to get to a bigger airplane in our politics,” the Minnesota senator said. “The coronary heart of our nation is greater than the heart of this person in the White Dwelling.”
Buoyed by a string of New Hampshire newspaper endorsements, an infusion of hard cash and some polls projecting a third-position end, Klobuchar said she was sensing one thing happening for her marketing campaign. The crowds have been even larger at rallies Monday, she claimed, and the media, she joked, was turning up at every single occasion.
