Two teens were tragically murdered, and two others were injured in Memphis, Tennessee, shot by unknown assailants for unknown reasons, during a particularly bloody day for Memphis.

The four victims were at a Marathon gas station on Elvis Presley Boulevard at approximately 9:35 p.m. on Friday, parked at a pump in their red Audi Infiniti, when the shooting occurred. According to the Memphis Police Department, a blue Nissan Maxima then pulled up and opened fire on the Infiniti before fleeing the scene. Police later recovered the Maxima, but not the suspects.

Two of the victims, who remain unidentified at time of writing, were a 15-year-old girl and a 16-year-old girl. One was pronounced dead at the scene while the other died later as a result of her injuries. Another 16-year-old girl was injured, as was a nine-month-old baby boy. Fortunately, the second 16-year-old and the baby are in non-critical condition and are expected to survive their injuries and recover, according to police.

As Memphis police noted, there is no known motive or cause for the shooting. It was not the only violent incident that day in Memphis, however. Carnage rocked the city all day and into the night, with at least three other shooting victims reported that Friday.

Roughly two miles away from the Marathon gas station where the three teens and the baby were shot, at approximately 5 a.m., an individual robbed a Valero gas station. The clerk was seemingly going “too slow” for the robber in emptying out the register, and the robber apparently became angry and impatient and shot the clerk after the register was finally opened, took the money, and fled the scene. As of writing, the clerk does not appear to have succumbed to his injuries, thankfully. The police did not have any information on the suspect.

Shortly before 8 p.m. on that same Friday, a man was shot near Dyer Place and Macon Road, by “two unknown black males wearing dark clothes,” according to Memphis police.

A woman was also fatally shot that day at 3838 Ford Place a little after 9 p.m. No motive was given and the suspect is currently unknown.

Saturday continued the violent trend, with three additional shooting victims, two of whom were reported by police as being in critical condition.

According to WREG News, there have been 290 homicides reported in Memphis, as of November 24th, and the city is currently well on its way towards surpassing its record of 323 homicides in 2020.
